The Pointed Van Dyck Collar.

There are several different variations of collar dress from this era.
Some more elaborate than other, but each elegant in its own way.
The style of collar that influenced me most was the one demonstrated in the bottom left image.



 The embroidery anglais collars that made their way onto the spring summer 2012 catwalk for Louis Vuitton are very similar to those worn during the 17th century in terms of height and shape.

Both of the collars above have been made by independent designers and have a strong influence from the 1600's. I really like the idea of the contrast between the white and black, and I'm particularly drawn to the idea of the detachable tie on collar with black ribbon.
